Coco Warner ReportingThere are so many dating services available on-line now, it's almost impossible to avoid them. And even though the industry's record growth is starting to slow down, meeting other singles online is still very popular.

At this point, probably everyone has heard a story about a couple who met on the internet and ended up living happily ever after. In fact, one Utah company is taking on-line dating one step farther, by only matching you with people who are truly compatible.

Scott Johnson/LDSPromise.com: "The idea was to come up with a site that was focused less on pictures and profiles and more on compatibility, and let people really find true matches."

LDSPromise.com readily admits they were inspired by the national online dating service: EHarmony.com. The premise behind both is to try and make matches based on the results of a compatibility test.

Scott Johnson/LDSPromise.com: "We've come up with pretty complex ways to calculate how compatible people really are based on needs, wants, likes, and we let people work out the chemistry."

Coco Warner/Eyewitness News: "So if you decide to sign up for LDS Promise.com, you need to set aside just about a half an hour to get through their compatibility test."

Scott Johnson/LDSPromise.com: "And people can expect anywhere between a few to many hundred matches, depending on their test scores and those settings."

The website matched up Bryce and Laura, who were impressed by all the questions.

Bryce and Laura Drescher/Met on LDSPromise.com:

Bryce: "What do you want in your relationship? What are you looking for?"

Laura: "A lot of things you probably wouldn't think of. Some questions, I was like, 'Why are they asking us this?'"

Bryce: "Or questions you might ask after dating someone after awhile."

Bryce and Laura began talking online in October. Their first date was on November 1st.

Bryce Drescher: "It was like, 'Wow. We do have a lot in common, like more than I've had in common with other people I've dated.'"

That first date went so well that they spent the next 13 out of 14 days together. Bryce proposed in January, and they married in June.

Bryce Drescher: "Someone said, 'Oh, you've found true love.' I don't think I found true love. I found my best friend and we've made true love."

So even though Bryce and Laura had a happy ending, experts say you do need to take precautions when dating on line. Always make sure you meet in a public place, and wait to give out personal contact information until you really know somebody.

On Wednesday, we're going aboard a singles cruise!
