Carrie Fisher and scribe Heather Robinson, who penned the original treatment for Universal's "The Perfect Man," are writing "E-Girl" for Gregory Zanfardino's Alliance Filmworks.
Semiautobiographical story is based on Robinson's transition from Internet geek to Hollywood screenwriter, as well as her battle with ovarian cancer.
Fisher, who became friends with Robinson, will play herself in the indie pic. Lead role has not been cast.
At Alliance, Zanfardino is also in development on "The Seth Material," based on the real-life story of author Jane Roberts and Seth, the "trance" personality who purportedly channeled through Roberts.
