NEW YORK, Jan 26, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White has helped write the music for "Hot Feet," the new dance musical based on the music of the popular R&B band.

Choreographer Maurice Hines is directing the musical, which will open its pre-Broadway run March 18 at the National Theatre in Washington, Playbill.com reported Thursday.

The show is scheduled to start Broadway previews at the Hilton Theatre April 15 with a scheduled opening of April 30.

The cast has not been announced for the show -- described as a "Faustian tale about a beautiful young dancer whose whole life's dreams and ambition are to be a Broadway dancer," Playbill said. Her fate is hijacked, however, by a pair of red dancing shoes.
