(KSL News) -- British doctors say they've developed a fertility testing kit that tells women how fast their biological clocks are ticking.
Plan Ahead tests aim to help women predict the rate their fertility is declining. The kit measures three hormone levels to determine how many eggs are in the ovaries. Then it estimates what the level will be in two years.
Professor Bill Ledger, University of Sheffield: "So, the idea behind the test was to give people a better idea on how their own bodies are behaving, how their ovaries are aging, hopefully when they're still young enough to do something about it."
Doctors say these tests allow for an informed decision about child birth, but should not be considered a guarantee of fertility.
