SALT LAKE CITY -- Flooding concerns continue this morning throughout northern Utah. Residents who live near creeks and rivers are keeping an eye on the waterways, some of which are already spilling over their banks.
The following waterways were at or near flood stage Monday morning:
* Weber River near Oakley and Gateway
* Blacksmith Fork near Hyrum
* Little Bear River near Paradise
* Green River near Glendale
* Chalk Creek near Coalville
Near Salt Lake City, Emigration Creek was last measured at 3 a.m. Monday at 1.79 feet. Flood stage is 2.6 feet, so flooding is not imminent there.
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for most of Northern Utah that will remain in effect through Monday evening. A flood warning has been issued for the Blacksmith Fork River in Cache County.
In Logan, residents have already seen minor flooding. Property owner Rachel King helped her renters move their possessions out of her yard to a safer place Sunday.
"I'm pretty worried," she said. "I mean, we have the insurance and stuff, but we're just going to try to get her things into storage that are out in the yard."
Logan city crews are pumping water to alleviate threats to the Country Manor subdivision. Dan Veronick expects the subdivision will flood in the next day or two and the city will essentially force them out.
Veronick has been pumping water out of his crawlspace for more than two months. Now he thinks flooding will overwhelm that effort.
"Nature happens. Nothing you can do about it," he said.
Several rivers, including the Green River at Jensen and the South Fork Ogden River near Huntsville, are expected to hit flood stage in the next 48 hours, based on current conditions.
