Jazz win despite big night from Durant

Salt Lake City (July 17, 2007) - Kevin Durant and Jeff Green scored the Sonics' first eight points against the Jazz as Seattle went on an 8-0 run in the first five minutes of game three of the RMR Tuesday night. Utah's Morris Almond scored four straight points and a Carl Elliott jumper gave the Jazz the lead 15-13 with 2:46 left in the first. The Sonics regained the lead, though, and by the end of the first quarter, Seattle was ahead by two, 23-21.

Seattle went on another 8-0 run to start the second quarter, while Utah took nearly four minutes to score. The Sonics would only outscore the Jazz by two points in the quarter and go into the half on top 42-38. Green and Millsap both had ten points and Utah's Kyrylo Fesenko led all players with six rebounds at halftime. The Sonics forced 16 Jazz turnovers after two complete quarters.

Morris Almond sank a three to start the Jazz in the third quarter and the Jazz rolled on to score 31 points in the quarter to finish three with the lead 69-61. Durant led all players after three with 15 points on 4-of-17 shooting. Millsap and Almond both had 14 points, while Dee Brown had eight points and seven assists.

The Jazz continued their second half lead and finished off the Sonics 102-88 to even their RMR record to 2-2. Durant led all players with 29 points and Green followed with 25. Millsap led the Jazz with 22 points and nine rebounds. Dee Brown had the game's only double-double with ten points and ten assists.
