London (dpa) - British model Liz Hurley, who is expected to tie the knot with her Indian millionaire boyfriend Arun Nayar next month, said Monday she would buy her wedding dress off the peg in order not to upset her many designer friends.
Hurley, aged 40, and a former longtime girlfriend of British actor Hugh Grant, told the Evening Standard newspaper in London she could "not bear to favour" one of her designer friends for her big day.
"If I had a dress designed for me I'd be in absolute agony", she told the Standard. "I wouldn't know who to go to. I have so many friends in the fashion business, and I work with so many fabulous people, I'd be in absolute hell."
"I'd probably make it myself or buy it at Debenhams (a London department store)", she said.
The model and former actress is close to designers Valentino and Donatella Versace.
She is travelling to Nayar's native India in February to shoot an ad campaign for her swimwear collection but refused to say if the couple will wed there.
Speculation has been rife that she would wed Nayar, who has been married before but has been her companion for several years, on Valentine's Day on February 14.
