British designer PHOEBE PHILO has resigned from French fashion house Chloe to concentrate on motherhood.
Philo joined the label in 1997 when her fashion college pal STELLA McCARTNEY was hired as top designer and then took over her job in 2001.
After giving birth to her daughter MAYA last March (05), Philo has decided to spend more time with her child and handed her resignation in today (05JAN06).
Philo says, "I am grateful to the House of Chloe for giving me the opportunity to develop as a designer and to serve as its creative director for the past four years.
"Chloe is a beautiful house with a great history, and I am proud to have worked alongside the wonderfully talented people there. My decision to resign is for personal reasons, including especially to spend more time with my new baby in the coming months."
Fashion industry experts predict ROLAND MOURET - who left his own company late last year (05) - will take over as creative director. (ES/WNWCVG/IG)
