Okay, okay. I'm being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century apparently. I have not been a big fan of blogging. I wrote once before about how irritating it is for me to hear people pronounce Iraq or Iran EYE-rak or EYE-ran. Even got a few caustic comments about that from people who felt they should be able to say it anyway they like. Heaven forbid, however, that I mispronounce Hooper or Hurricane, Utah.

Now I understand blogging gives people more of an inside look at what goes on at KSL or what goes on in the minds of the people who work here (although sometimes that can be a dangerous thing). But it's been a struggle for me to come up with stuff to blog on. I'm just not sure how many of you are interested in my receipe for tuna casserole or that it cost me $700 to get my sprinkler system fixed.

But I have been admonished by several of my colleagues and the boss, to blog. So blog I shall! Grant Nielsen actually stole the blog I was going to do yesterday. I was surprised by the smoky haze hanging in the Salt Lake Valley that I too thought it might be time to call for an end to personal fireworks displays in Utah. I've been an advocate of that since a bar-b-que at a friends house a few years ago where some of the kids were blowing various fruits and vegetables with fire crackers while the grownups were cheering them on. Brought a whole new meaning to the term adult supervision! But Grant stole my idea so I'll have to come with something else.
