In the aftermath of Brandon Davies suspension, the BYU basketball team has been silent on the devastating blow, until Wednesday evening.

Head coach Dave Rose discussed the Davies departure in great detail in his pregame segment with KSL radio's Greg Wrubell.

"It's obviously disappointing. Disappointing to our players, we all feel for Brandon and I think he knows our support for him." said Rose.

Rose has grown closer to Davies in the past 48 hours and understands the weight of the honor code violation is loaded squarely on the sophomore's shoulders.

"What he's feeling right now is that he's let people down, let teammates down, let fans down." said Coach Rose, " In reality this is a situation where you have to grow from these types of things. We all know what we sign up for when we come to BYU. The way he handled the mistake, he did the right thing."

Reactions rolled in from Vai Sikahema. A former cougar star that had lived the honor code as an athlete at BYU in the 1980's. Sikahema likes that BYU remained consistent in their support of the honor code.

"I think frankly, the country is tired of universities and professional teams that don't hold their athletes accountable. I think It's refreshing. That's the word I've heard over and over again today. It is "refreshing" to see a university that steps up. Despite the fact that they have a great team, with a chance to go deep and far in the NCAA tournament. To dismiss one of their players because of an honor code violation."

Rose knows that there's very little he can do for his team in the immediate future. "What you need in these situations, is you need time, and we don't have any time we gotta play."
