Guess what's the first write-in contest for the new Chicken Soup for the Soul magazine?

Nothing other than the great pastime of all - gardening!

That's right. Continuing its legacy for reader-submitted stories that began with the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul books, the magazine wants you to submit your most heart-warming or funniest Chicken Soup-style story about gardening and the best photograph of your vegetable or flower garden. You know the kind of stuff they like - how gardening has made your life the very best it can be.

In return, you may win a Mantis tiller to make your garden grow even better. The gardening tool company is providing two special-edition 25th anniversary silver Mantis tillers; visit www.mantisgardentools.com.

Gardening story submissions should be 500 to 800 words in length. Photos should either depict floral or vegetable gardens or a combination of both. Only color prints or digital images with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi will be accepted. All submissions must be received by Dec. 31.

The winning story and photograph will appear in the magazine's February/March issue. The stories and photographs of five runners-up in each category will be posted on the magazine's Web site. For more information about contest submission and rules, visit www.chickensoupmagazine.com and click on the Mantis tiller photo at the bottom left of the page.
