A short off season didn't stop Real Salt Lakes front office from getting the job done with securing the players for now and the future.

Nick Rimando is the latest to be signed to a contract extension by RSL. He will be with the team till at least 2013, after achieving his best season as a professional in 2010. Rimando is a key piece in stabilizing this team's defense for the future, as most contracts for RSL run to about 2013 and 2014.

for the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League game with the Columbus Crew. Coaches are all very pleased with the state of the team as they have said all players are at their fittest ever for preseason training. One player that will be key to all of Salt Lakes games Alvaro Saborio is almost fully recovered and in match shape from his knee surgery he had only days after the season ended.

After seeing the top scoring threats from the last 2 season leave the team for Europe, ReAL has replaced and fortified that position with some great additions. Paulo Jr and Arturo Alvarez on paper seem to be the perfect replacements for this team as Paulo will have the speed that Robbie Findley took with him and Alvarez has the control of Yura Movsisyan.

First game is February 22nd at Columbus Crew.
