I don't understand the anger toward Paris Hilton. Is it the age-old ugly part of human nature that hates her because she's beautiful? Or do we hate her because she's rich and beautiful? Or do we hate her because she's rich and beautiful and doesn't offer something meaningful to society? That doesn't make sense. Lots of people live largely for themselves and their families and contribute little back to society as a whole, but we don't hate them.
Do we hate her because she gets special treatment? Lots of people get special treatment for one reason or another, and when the person in trouble is our child - we would probably want special treatment too. Do we hate her because she's a model and singer or because she earns $20 million a year for wearing clothes? Lots of people do that. Do we hate all of them?
My guess is that we hate her because she's in our face every day, but that's not her decision, is it? That's probably our fault in the media. We've bombarded you with pictures and stories of Paris for so long that you've had enough of it, and now you hate her, but that's probably our fault and not hers.
So I guess if there needs to be hatred it should probably be directed at us, and not her? Or do I just not get it.
