When you think dairy farmer, I doubt that pizza comes to mind, but for a dairy farmer named Greg Chambers, pizza was always on his mind… So much so that 10 years ago, he traded in the farm for an incredible pizzeria: Firehouse Pizzeria at 880 S. Main Street in Logan.

Greg told me he always wanted his own restaurant. He went to Las Vegas to the big pizza expo and learned everything he could about how to make pizza.

You know what impressed him the most? The wood stove oven that uses fire and stone to cook the pizza. Greg likes it because the pizza crust is crisper. This is the method he decided to use in his own pizzeria, in partnership with his brother, Neal.

When you visit Firehouse Pizzeria, you can choose between three different types of pizza: traditional, authentic or pizza you build on your own. The Triple Threat pizza, with three types of pepperoni and a blend of cheeses, is a local favorite. The restaurant also has a variety of pastas. The Cordon Bleu Pasta was voted as Cache Valley's favorite entrée.

To diversify his business portfolio, Greg opened several franchise operations to see if this direction works for the quality his pizza is known for. Now you can find Firehouse in Smithfield and Centerville in addition to Logan.

Of course living in Logan puts Greg in the heart of Aggie territory. And he loves to support Utah State University because the college crowd is definitely an important part of his demographic. As a side note you might be interested to know that USU spun out a record number of patents and disclosures in 2009. It's a major research university with ties to the Department of Defense and NASA.

Greg supports USU with a live coaches show, and on game day, he offers a great deal that includes pasta, salad and a drink. He supports the local fire departments and gives a 10 percent discount every time they come in. What a guy!
