VANCOUVER (CP) - Listen up book lovers. Your favourite authors may be coming to a podcast near you.

Raincoast Books announced Friday that it is launching a "literary podcast series" which will feature author interviews and readings that can be listened to on computers or portable media players.

The company's first podcast will feature Jim Lynch, author of The Highest Tide. The podcast will include material recorded when the author appeared at the 2005 Vancouver International Writers and Readers Festival.

It's available from ITunes by searching for "Raincoast," or the RSS feed is available from Feedburner: feeds.feedburner.com/raincoast.

The MP3 file can also be access from the Raincoast blog: blogs.raincoast.com.

Raincoast plans to release up to 15 podcasts in 2006.
