Los Angeles (dpa) - Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss is planning to open a new brothel in Nevada. But unlike her previous enterprises, which served the high-powered men of Hollywood and which led her to serve 21 months in jail, her new venture will cater to women in need of sex, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.
Fleiss will open "Heidi's Stud Farm" together with a partner who already runs three legal brothels in Nye County some 100 kilometres west of Nevada, where prostitution is sanctioned by law. She said she is looking for about 20 gigolos to work at the Hollywood-themed bordello, expects to have thousands of applicants, and will charge women 250 dollars an hour for their services.
"Women are more independent these days; they make more money and it's hard to meet people," Fleiss said. "You wouldn't believe the number of women who've told me, 'Heidi, if you do this, I'll be the first one in line!' I mean, relationships are harder than dieting, you know what I mean?"
Her partner, Joe Richards, said the brothel was a reflection of the "unique evolution of the female gender reaching out for the same service we now offer male clients." "Say a guy gets into an argument with his wife. What does he do? Lot of times, he goes out, gets a drink, goes to a place to be serviced," he told the paper. "Now women can say, 'Hey, if you can do it, I can too.'"
