This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
We've all heard this story a million times. Someone discovers Utah skiing, falls in love with Utah and then moves here. It's not uncommon in a state that welcomes millions of skiers every year who contribute $4 billion to our state economy. Those who move here continue to ski too as 25 percent of Utahns say they have skied or gone snowboarding in the last two years.
That's what happened to me and that's exactly what Dr. David Teasley did. He came skiing in Park City and then moved here permanently from Virginia in 2008. This was clearly Virginia's loss and Park City's gain. Dr. Teasley is a well known plastic surgeon with clients traveling to see him (based on referrals) from all over the world.
He is a top-notch professional who went to Duke Medical School. Not only is he a talented doctor but he and his wife, Gail, believe in giving back to the community they live in. This was hard information to get from Dr. Teasley because he would rather not talk about himself. So let me do it for him.
Back in Virginia he was involved with Operation Smile and then helped start up Hometown Smiles. Now that we have him on board in Park City he is involved with the People's Health Clinic that provides medical care for uninsured families in Summit and Wasatch counties. The program is now 10 years old and helps thousands of patients every year.
He is very involved with the Park City Ambassadors who support local targeted events like the Kimball Arts Festival, the Fourth of July party and the Park City Silly Sunday Market.
Gail stays right with her husband where serving the community is concerned. She's a nurse and started a traveling vaccine business. It's much more cost effective for her patients.
By the way, Dr. Teasley is Park City's only full-time plastic surgeon. This is the kind of doctor who will take the moral high ground with his patients and wants only the best for them.
For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
