This is my old kitchen. Nothing wrong with it. (Espcially when it's really, really clean, like it was when I took this picture.) But it's so cheapy. And this cook wants a better kitchen!

I've admired granite countertops my whole adult life. I've wanted my kitchen, which is the place I spend the most time in my house, to feel rich and warm, like I know granite countertops do. What's stopped me? Money, of course, and ignorance.

I just didn't know. I didn't know I could get incredible granite countertops in one of 65 colors at entry level pricing. And then I met the guys at Premier Marble and Granite. Dennis and Darryl, the brothers who run Premier, are such great guys.

They came out to my house. They looked at my small kitchen. They gave me ideas. Then I went to their plant in Orem and saw how they do it, met some of their coworkers (who take such great pride in their work) and started getting even more excited.

We went to pick out the marble from this amazing place - Adamas Stone, 3555 South 700 West #A in Salt Lake - where there are huge slabs of granite for days. What an artistic place! Francesa Pucci helped us pick it out, but truly, from the moment my husband saw the black marble with the little blue specs, he was done. That was it.

Love at first sight.

We could do anything we want in terms of design. If you can draw it, they can cut it, but Aaron and I are pretty simple. We just wanted the same granite in the countertop as in the backsplash, and we wanted new stainless sinks. Premier helped us with everything.

As I write this blog, the plumber is coming over to install the sinks. The guys with the countertops will be there this afternoon, and the backsplash is coming on Wednesday. Hee!Hee! (If you were sitting near me, you would have heard that squeal.) I'll post pictures of the new kitchen as soon as it's done.

Look - don't wait as long as I did. I spend hours every day in my kitchen. (I love to cook - and bake, although I'm a mediocre baker.) I want this room where I spend my life to feel luxurious, warm, rich, and now it's going to -and at such a great price!

Get this. Premier uses only grade one granite, and if price were a ladder, they'd be about a third of the way up. And that includes any of your design options. All designs are included in the base price.

Here's my pitch. If you're thinking about granite countertops - or if you've even been talking with someone else, but you haven't signed a contract yet - stop, and talk to Premier Marble and Granite. Yes, they are a client of mine on KSL, so I have a business relationship with them. But I blog also because when you meet a couple of brothers who are this successful for doing such amazingly good and consistent work, you want to tell people about them.
