Washington (dpa) - For a bank robber, the mystery woman looks remarkably cool: sunglasses perched in her hair, a cell phone clasped to her left ear.

U.S. police suspect the 20-something woman, caught on a bank's surveillance videotape that was widely shown on television, has robbed four Washington area banks since October 12. Despite the publicity, she remained at large Friday.

During each robbery, she was talking into a cell phone, the Washington Post reported. It was unclear why, or whether she was really talking to anyone at all.

In the last holdup on November 4, the woman showed a firearm in her purse to a bank teller and handed over a note demanding money, the Loudon County sheriff's office in northern Virginia said. Previously, she had simply showed a note.

Authorities have given no indication of how much money the woman has made off with.
