SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Bryan Hilliard ran for 136 yards and scored a touchdown with 3:23 remaining to lead Sacramento State a 24-17 victory against Weber State on Saturday night.
After Hilliard's 4-yard touchdown run, which culminated a nine-play, 55-yard drive, the Hornets (2-1, 1-0 Big Sky) stopped Weber State (1-2, 1-1) on downs and bled the last two minutes off the clock.
Jeff Fleming threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns for Sacramento State.
Cameron Higgins was 21-of-42 for 253 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for the Wildcats.
Higgins' 13-yard touchdown pass to running back Josh Booker knotted the score at 17-17 with 8:05 to play. The ensuing kickoff was returned 34 yards by Sam McCowan to the Hornets' 45-yard line, giving Sacramento State good starting position for its game-winning march.
Joe Collins had five catches for 110 yards for Weber State.
