Utah Jazz forward Paul Millsap was named to the 2006-07 T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Second Team, the NBA announced Tuesday, May 8, 2007.

A second-round draft pick (47th overall) out of Louisiana Tech, the 6-8, 258-pound forward appeared in all 82 games for the Jazz as a rookie, averaging 6.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.82 steals and 0.90 blocks in 18.0 minutes per game. He ranked second among NBA rookies in rebounding and double-doubles (7), third in steals and blocks, tied for fifth in scoring and eighth in minutes per game. Millsap scored in double figures 23 times and pulled down 10-or-more rebounds on eight occasions, leading the Jazz in rebounding 12 times.

Millsap became the seventh rookie in Jazz history to appear in all 82 games. Millsap's 183 offensive rebounds rank second in the Jazz rookie record books, while his field goal percentage of .525 (209-398) is the third highest ever by a Jazz rookie.

Millsap is the seventh Jazz player to be selected to an NBA All-Rookie First or Second Team; Darrell Griffith (1980-81), Thurl Bailey (1983-84), Karl Malone (1985-86), Andrei Kirilenko (2001-02) and Deron Williams (2005-06) were named All-Rookie First Team, while Blue Edwards (1989-90) was selected to the Second Team.

Millsap (36 points) had the highest point total of any player on the All-Rookie Second Team, finishing one point shy of Toronto's Jorge Garbajosa (37 points) and Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge (37 points) for a place on the All-Rookie First Team.

The voting panel consisted of the NBA's 30 head coaches, who were asked to select five players for the first team and five players for the second team, regardless of position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players on their own team. Two points were awarded for first team votes and one for second team votes.
