FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State used a balanced offensive attack and controlled the clock for 34:39 en route to a 53-21 victory against Utah State here late Saturday night. The Aggies fell to 2-3 overall as well as 1-2 in the Western Athletic Conference. Fresno State improved to 4-1 and 2-0.
Utah State struck first after Terrance Washington recorded an interception on Fresno State's first play of the game. The Aggies took over at the Bulldogs' 36-yard line and scored five plays later on a Chris Forbes one-yard touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead just three minutes into the game.
However, the Bulldogs responded by scoring the game's next 46 points.
The Aggies committed three turnovers in the first half which led to 17 Bulldog points.
Utah State will return home to host Boise State on Saturday in a 4:35 p.m. kickoff.
