According to statistics from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Specialists, orthopedic ailments are the most common reason people seek medical care. One in seven Americans has an orthopedic ailment, and more than seven million Americans require hospitalization each year for orthopedic conditions. Clearly, the need for orthopaedic specialists is great.

Dr. Stephen Warner, a spine specialist, and Dr. Peter Larcom, a total joint surgeon, teamed up more than 10 years ago to become the current Utah Orthopaedic Specialists. Since that time, three other fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons have joined the practice.

Utah Orthopaedic Specialists, located in Murray, offers a full spectrum of orthopedic care. Each physician in the practice has specialized training in different areas. The five specialties the clinic offers are: total joint replacement, such as knee and hip replacement surgery; hand and upper extremity; sports medicine; spine surgery; and orthopaedic trauma. The clinic's clientele is mainly concentrated along the Wasatch Front but extends from Southern Utah into Nevada, Wyoming and Idaho.

Dr. Larcom says most patients searching for an orthopaedic surgeon are pleased to have so many specialties located at a single setting. The orthopedic field has undergone major changes over the 10 years Utah Orthopaedic Specialists has been in business. The company has implemented changes and upgrades to the practice, including those to digital imaging and electronic medical records. Through continuing education and expansion of treatment opportunities, Utah Orthopaedic Specialists excels in the latest technologies and procedures that foster healing and pain relief for patients.

The vision for Utah Orthopaedic Specialists is to continue providing high-quality and specialized care. The goal is to return patients to the quality of life they had prior to injury or illness and help reduce their risks of re-injury.
