Here is Round 2 of "Voice of the Fan"
This Sunday we had sports fans Gardner Olson and Brad Clark.
Jeremiah Jensen - "Two new fans joining us this week. Gardner Olson, Brad Clark--both Jazz fans--we'll get right into it. Hot topic #1. Wesley Matthews signs a 5-year $32.7 million offer sheet. Front-loaded 9.2 million due like a week after the Jazz decide to match or not. Do the Jazz keep him? Do they decide to match the offer sheet?"
Clark - "I'd say they have to. Who else is out there? They gotta go after him."
Jensen - "You love Wesley Matthews that much? That's a lot of money to pay an undrafted free agent."
Clark - "It's a ton of money, and it's more than, uh, other rookies are getting in their three year initial deals, but you gotta go after him, there's nobody really out there. He's a hard worker. He's a ‘Sloan' guy."
Jensen - "Can't lose him. Gardner, what do you think."
Olson - "Portland is, uh, definitely out to get us on this one. I think we need to maybe even let him go and maybe look around. Maybe we can re-sign Brewer or someone but, I don't know, I really did like Matthews and I'd like to see what he can do."
Clark - "It doesn't really make sense why they're doing it. They have Roy--unless they're really concerned about his injuries--why are they doing it other than to stick it to the Jazz?"
