Nathan Haynes drove in four runs to lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 7-3 win over the Las Vegas 51s on Saturday afternoon. Haynes picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice in the second inning, delivered a two run single in the fourth and smacked a run scoring double in the sixth, as the Bees win their third straight to open the season.

Matt Hensley, who was making his first start since the 2003 season, picked up the win for Salt Lake. Hensley (1-0) went five innings and allowed just two runs on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Matt Brown had two hits and drove in one run, while Gary Patchett added two hits and one RBI. For the second straight game, the Bees took advantage of defensive lapses for three unearned runs as Las Vegas committed three errors.
