(KSL News) There's new flooding to report, tonight. Land is literally falling away in the hills above Farmington.

Farmington Creek is roaring where it's usually fairly mild. And it's making nearby homeowners very nervous.

Steve Phipps, Farmington Resident: "My bigggest concern is that it will continue eroding the bank away and continue to move west to the point where it wipes out my property."

Phipp's property once had a gradual slope down to the creek. Now there's a 20-foot drop off there.

American Fork

In American Fork Canyon the river is raging. In fact, it's a muddy torrent. Volunteers from a local ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were called out Monday night to help. They're filling sandbags and it's hard work, but they're taking it in stride.

Charles Arnold/ Bishop, Cedar Hills 5th Ward: "It's not a bad job. The weather's good and it's pleasant up here, and you know the creek is not quite over the banks yet. So now's the time to do the work."

They're also using heavy equipment to dredge the stream and keep it flowing.
