(KSL News) -- Mark Hacking's defense attorney says he has seen a copy of the letter found in the Hackings' apartment and he doesn't believe it indicates marital trouble.
Gil Athay, Mark Hacking's Defense Attorney: "We all have been in relationships where we're not happy with the relationship, where we need some changes, we need to spend more time together."
Athay says it can be misleading to hear people interpret the evidence they haven't personally seen. Take, for example, Mark's confession to his brothers.
Gil Athay: "Isn't it interesting that before the brothers talked, we had a rage homicide with knives and blood everwhere."
Athay cautions people to reserve judgement until they've heard all the facts come out in court.
The preliminary hearing is set for September 23rd.
