Also today comes word that the money paid to the city for the Main Street plaza has already been spent. And what that money bought may surprise you.

It's a question that for a lot of people is kind of an 'oh-yeah'! Where did that 8-point-1 million dollars go?
Well, according to a report in today's Deseret News, the answer might be right under your feet.
City sidewalks, curbs, asphalt and streets are part of the benefit for the 8-point-1 million dollar price tag for Main Street.
But that's just a fraction of what the city used that money for.

The largest chunk went for improvements to city parks. Most notably, 2-and-a-half million dollars for improvements to Liberty park by far the largest chunk of the Main street money.
It paid for things like playground equipment, new restrooms, and roads.
Another park--Rotary Glen--got a facelift worth 800-thousand dollars.
More than a half a million dollars went for new curbs and sidewalks around the city; For new dispatch equipment and radios for the police and fire departments.
Another half a million dollars went to repair 11 bridges around the city.
These are just a few in a list compliled in a Deseret News report, in the paper today.
City officials say most of the improvemets are not glamorous, but that a lot of people care about--and that woultn't have been done without that money.
