(KSL TV) A new twist in the Elizabeth Smart case. Police say that while Elizabeth and her two alleged kidnappers were in San Diego, another little girl may have been targeted by Brian Mitchell and Wanda Barzee.

That little girl was Virl Kemp's 12 year old daughter. He says, "The FBI contacted me the day after she was found in Salt Lake City. Our names and addresses were still in his possession."

Kemp met Mitchell at an LDS church last December, where Mitchell claimed his name was Peter.

Kemp invited Mitchell home with him for a hot meal.

While there, he met Kemp's daughter.

Sources say Wanda Barzee revealed Mitchell went back to the Kemp home to take the little girl, but found it locked up too tightly.

Police don't plan on adding the alleged San Diego kidnapping attempt to Mitchell's rap sheet.
