The Mountain West Conference office released the league's 2007 football schedule today and the Utes are slated for at least five nationally-televised games.
Utah's games against UCLA (Sept. 15) and TCU (Oct. 18) will be broadcast by VERSUS, games with Wyoming (Nov. 10) and Brigham Young (Nov. 24) are slated for CSTV bookings, and the Utah-Louisville game on Oct. 5 will be shown on ESPN. Another national television possibility is Utah's game at Oregon State on Aug. 30. The Utes will also make six appearances on The Mtn., including a simulcast (CSTV and Mtn.) for the BYU game. Utah's only non-televised game is a home date with San Diego State on Oct. 13.
After opening the season on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Oregon State, the Utes will play host to Air Force in their home opener on Sept. 8. Utah will conclude regular season play at BYU on Nov. 24. The one open date falls on Nov. 3.
Third-year Ute head coach Kyle Whittingham has this to say about the 2007 schedule. "Although we have a challenging schedule, we feel it is structured in a positive way. We will have several opportunities to play on national television, which will be a plus not only for our program, but for the Mountain West Conference as well. We know that our games against UCLA, Louisville, TCU, Wyoming and BYU will be national telecasts, and we're optimistic that our game at Oregon State will also be picked up nationally. We like the general layout of the schedule and think it will be fan friendly."
Season ticket renewals for the six Utah home football games will be mailed the first week of April and new season ticket orders will be taken starting June 11.
