THE INTERNET — To paraphrase a popular Nike slogan, (foot) ball is life.

But sometimes, the touchdown is just the beginning.

There probably weren’t a lot of fans paying attention to the Canadian Football League, but the league’s conference semifinals were played this weekend.

And they caught a few more eyeballs because of a unique celebration.

Meanwhile, back home, Sky View High School wide receiver Mason Falslev had a nominee for Catch of the Year in the 4A state semifinals. The Bobcats lost to Orem, but Falslev's highlight will stand the test of time.

CFL receiver goes low for touchdown

The Saskatchewan Roughriders pounced on the reigning Grey Cup champion Ottawa Redblacks for a 31-20 win in the CFL’s Eastern Conference semifinals.

But for U.S. viewers, Ottawa receiver Deontae Spencer’s touchdown — and subsequent limbo-inspired celebration — was the star of the show.

We’d be remiss to not mention Roughriders' running back Marcus Thigpen who ran for 159 yards, the third-most in franchise history.

But that limbo, though.

Sky View wide receiver's catch breaks internet

Sky View’s season ended with a 21-12 loss to Orem in the Class 4A state semifinals Friday night.

The previously unbeaten Bobcats were held to a season-low 12 points by the Tigers, who advanced to their first state championship in 23 years.

But it wasn’t all bad for Sky View because star receiver Mason Falslev saw his one-handed grab go viral — with an assist from KSL TV and NBC's Sunday Night Football.

Orem will meet Mountain Crest in a winner-take-all final Friday at 6 p.m. MT at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Get used to seeing Falslev’s name, though; the 6-foot-1 dual-sport sophomore will be back for two more seasons in Smithfield.

Utah Valley’s #Toughest24 highlighted by ESPN

If you haven’t heard by now, Utah Valley men’s basketball opened the season with back-to-back losses.

But the result of those losses? Whoo boy.

Marketed as the “toughest 24 hours in college basketball history,” the Wolverines went to No. 5 Kentucky and No. 1 Duke, all in one day’s span, to play two of college basketball’s biggest blue bloods.

“There is no history at Utah Valley. There is none,” former Duke star Shane Battier told the Wolverines before tipoff at Cameron Indoor Stadium. “You are living it; you are the history right now. That is an amazing opportunity. Some people would be scared by that.”

UVU lost both games, but the most green-goggled Wolverine supporters would’ve predicted otherwise. Utah Valley led Kentucky 34-25 before falling, 73-63 and gave Duke coach Mike Kryzyewski his 1,000th win with a 99-69 loss.

“When we talk about this being the toughest 24 hours in the history of college basketball, it’s true,” UVU coach Mark Pope said. “We got to come play two of the best teams in America, and we’re really clear on what we need to work on. This toughest 24 was really everything we hoped it would be.”
