UCLA is the latest Pac-12 team to do a scheduling deal with BYU, bringing to eight the number of league teams with future games scheduled against the Cougars.

On Thursday, BYU announced a two-game series with the Bruins, with games scheduled at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on Sept. 19, 2015, and at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Sept. 17, 2016.

"I'm excited for this series with UCLA," said BYU Director of Athletics Tom Holmoe. "It's a great matchup versus an opponent rich in football tradition, and a team that will be fighting for a Pac-12 championship. It's also a great opportunity for our large fan base in Southern California to see the Cougars play in the Rose Bowl—one of the most storied football venues in the country."

Scheduling UCLA on the road in 2015 currently gives BYU a full 12-game regular-season schedule slate for next season, but with only five home games. The contracted road game at Southern Miss is a likely target for restructuring; the two-game series was originally scheduled to start this season in Provo, but that game was pushed pack to 2016.

A similar push-back for next year's game in Hattiesburg--and/or moving from 2016 to 2015 the meeting at BYU--would give the Cougars their needed sixth home date.

The UCLA agreement gives BYU 20 scheduled games against Pac-12 teams from 2014 through 2025, with additional games scheduled against "Power 5" programs Notre Dame, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia.
