This Day in Weather History: June 23
In 1983, billions of gallons of water broke through the DMAD Dam northeast of Delta and spread across low lying lands and roads, flooding the town s of Deseret and Oasis with several feet of water. One man drowned in the flood. In 1985, south winds gusted to 52 mph in Provo, blowing off roofing material and damaging cars.
