This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The pet industry in the United States is huge and continues to grow. According to the American Pet Products Association, over 56 million households have a dog while 45 million have cats. And that number is expected to grow. With pets as such an important part of your family, of course you want to know they'll be taken care of while you're away. That's where places like Brickyard Kennel can help.

Brickyard Kennel has room for 130 dogs, 22 cats and up to 20 exotic animals. Owner Margie Wakeham (wake-em) and her staff of 13 employees work hard to make sure animals are receiving the best possible care. The kennel has several play centers so the dogs can play with the other dogs and humans. This service is included in the boarding cost and makes things healthier for the dogs.

Of course, there's a doggy daycare program where you can bring your dog while you're at work to spend the day playing with other dogs and humans. Brickyard Kennel has a small dog room for dogs 30 pounds and under, and the bigger dogs are separated by temperament. Cats are also well taken care of here, and exotic animals are welcome.

Margie says their customer base at Brickyard Kennel is extensive. They have a strong local following, and many customers from Southern Utah and out of state who come for vacation or fly out for vacation and drop their dogs off .... One couple from Texas comes to stay at a condo in Park City and will bring their dog with them to stay while they're in town.... They're used to dealing with a high-touch clientele and well known people who will only bring their animals to Brickyard Kennel.

The kennel offers another unique program through the Salt Lake City School District ... Twice a week, special education adults come in and work with the animals... Margie says it's a beautiful partnership, and the students love it..... In fact, one of their former students now works for Brickyard Kennel.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
