This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The American dream: grow up, get married, buy a house and live happily ever after. That may have been what you heard while growing up, but times have changed, and today's dream is shifting. With the current housing market and flexes in the economy, many people are choosing to live worry-free by becoming long-term renters. And rental communities like Crossing at Daybreak are making it easier and more comfortable than ever before.

This is a luxury apartment community in the Daybreak development. Crossing has everything you could possibly want from a 24-hour fitness center to full-size washers and dryers in every apartment home to a swimming pool and spa with Wi-Fi. Each apartment is spacious with granite countertops, and some even have fireplaces.

Daybreak already has a strong community of homes, townhomes and condos available, but this is the first apartment community. Although there's a fair amount of competition, community manager Luke Kochniuk (kutch-nick) says the location, amenity package and newness factor give them a leg up.

The first building started leasing last October, and he says Crossing is ahead of schedule for their occupation goals. The final two buildings are scheduled to begin leasing within the next two months. The community is already having a huge impact on the area and recently won a builders award from the South Jordan Chamber of Commerce. Western National Group, which owns the property in conjunction with Kennecott Land, is known as a one-stop shop for apartment management.

With the West Jordan TRAX line scheduled to open next August as part of the 70 miles of rail opening in the next seven years, access to Crossing will be more convenient than ever. The Daybreak community itself offers some serious amenities including a 65-acre lake, 22 miles of walking and biking trails, plenty of outdoor playing fields and the SoDa Row retail area with shops, restaurants and services.

If your American dream has shifted from home ownership to renting, Crossing at Daybreak might provide a good option for apartment living — maintenance free.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
