(Ogden) - Wade Miller scored 25 points and made four 3-point shots to lead Bear River past Snow Canyon 83-55 in the 3A state semifinals. Bear River returns to the 3A championship game for the first time since 2009 when they won the title.
Both teams came out red hot in the 1st quarter combining for eight 3-pointers. Snow Canyon led 6-0 early after a 3-pointer by Kallan Webster. Miller then caught fire for the Bears from the 3-point line. He made four 3-point shots in the first half and Bear River would outscore Snow Canyon 20-9 in the 2nd quarter to take a 16-point lead at the half.
Bear River's lead grew to as many as 30 points in the 2nd half. The Bears shot 53 percent from the field and 47 percent from the 3-point line. The Bears had 11 players score points in the game.
Chandler Gines led Snow Canyon with 17 points in the loss.
