PROVO â BYU running back TyâSon Williams has been ruled out for the season with a torn ACL, the senior announced on social media Sunday.
Williams took a hit to his left knee after a reception during the second quarter of the Cougarsâ loss to Washington Saturday. He didnât return to the game.
âUnfortunately my 2019 season has come to an end due to an ACL (t)ear in my left knee,â Williams wrote on Twitter. âHaving no regrets as every time I gave it my all when I was out there. I appreciate all my family and friends reaching out as I always say âI love yâall.ââ
The transfer from South Carolina was the teamâs leading rusher this season. In three-plus games he gained 264 yards on 49 carries. He also had 47 yards receiving yards on the season.
Williams had 28 yards on six carries to go with two receptions for 17 yards when he exited Saturdayâs game.
