WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Police in West Jordan are investigating a possible abduction attempt of an 8-year-old girl.

West Jordan police Sgt. J.C. Holt told KSL-TV that the girl told police that she fell while riding her bike and then a man grabbed her arm and said something like "come here you stupid girl."

Holt says the girl feared he was trying to abduct her and kicked the man before running home. Her parents called police.

Police aren't sure if the incident was an attempted abduction and are still investigating.
