POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Eastern Idaho has appointed a federal prosecutor to help reduce crime rates.
KIDK-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1SFX88Z ) that on Monday James Dalton was named the new Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for Eastern Idaho as part of the Eastern Idaho Partners project, which aims to reduce the number of repeat offenders.
Dalton will work to prosecute repeat offenders who serve minimum time at a local level and are quickly returned to the streets.
Dalton says he plans to target serious offenders who post the greatest public risk, such as drug traffickers and prostitution.
Treasure Valley has also appointed an assistant attorney to reduce crime.
