SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) — University of Wisconsin-Superior administrators say this year's enrollment increase can be attributed, in part, to a record influx of international students.

Overall enrollment at the Superior campus is up 13 percent this year. University spokesman Daniel Fanning tells WDIO-TV (http://bit.ly/1FakRmy ) the enrollment increase brings a "positive vibe" to the campus. State budget cuts and uncertainty have been difficult for many UW campuses.

Fanning says the outlook is better with significant enrollment increases. The number of international students is up 25 percent, making this year's class the largest and most diverse.

Pouyan Ghalehmalek moved from Cyprus to Superior to go to school. He says the small community and beautiful campus is what drew him to Superior. Ghalehmalek is a resident adviser who was helping students move into the dorms Sunday.
