WASHINGTON (AP) — Michigan's U.S. senators have announced $5.1 million in federal funding will go toward new community health centers and care in the state.
A news release from the offices of U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters says the funding comes through the Affordable Care Act. Recipients of funds include organizations in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Jackson and Mount Pleasant.
The release says the funding is projected to support roughly 28,800 new patients.
