LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police are investigating an apparent fatal stabbing after a woman was found dead at a home several miles southwest of the Las Vegas Strip.

Officer Laura Meltzer said Sunday that patrol officers arrived at a residence on Calle Del Sol a little after 12:45 p.m. Saturday and found the woman dead with multiple stab wounds.

No arrest was immediately made.

Detectives determined the woman was stabbed repeatedly before a man went to a nearby store near Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard to call police. A motive for the slaying wasn't immediately known.

The name of woman will be released by the Clark County coroner.
