Similar debates are raging in courthouses and statehouses across the United States, but it's not yet clear if rulings elsewhere _ including a recent 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that said there is no First Amendment right to the information _ will impact the Idaho fight.
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The murder trial for a youth charged with killing one classmate and wounding three others at a high school in Washington state has been pushed back to Oct. 5, 2020. Spokane County Superior Court Judge Michael Price on Friday agreed to delay the trial to allow new defense attorneys for 17-year-old Caleb Sharpe to get up to speed.
ATHOL, Idaho (AP) — One person has been killed after an Amtrak train heading to Seattle crashed into a truck parked on the tracks in the town of Athol, Idaho. Officials for Amtrak say none of the 234 passengers or crew members on the train were injured in the crash early Friday morning.
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho school district has distributed computers to students a month after a department-wide cyberattack wiped out the district's network. The Idaho Press reported Thursday that Nampa School District officials finished giving out re-imaged laptops to middle school students after high school students were equipped with unaffected devices last week. The malware attack on Aug. 21 came just two days after the school year began, disabling the district's entire computer network.
