Toolsons double up as Utah Valley downs W. State Colorado

OREM, Utah (AP) — Jake Toolson scored 19 points and Conner Toolson scored 18 and Utah Valley beat Division II Western State Colorado 82-59 on Wednesday night.

Western State surged to a 16-8 lead when Cole Sienknecht made a 3-pointer. But Utah Valley (5-3) came back with a 12-2 run and led 20-18 when Jake Toolson buried a pull-up 3 on the left side of the floor during a fast break. Jackson Ehrlin tied it at 20-all, but the Wolverines took control with a 15-0 run capped by Conner Toolson's basket with 4:55 left before halftime.

Utah Valley finished shooting 47 percent from the floor to 30 percent for Western State. Utah Valley outscored the Mountaineers 48-22 on points in the lane. Connor MacDougall contributed 14 points for the Wolverines and Baylee Steele grabbed 10 rebounds in 13 minutes.

Quincy Harding led Western State with 12 points.
