Locals in the NFL: A few locals with huge games in Week 9

SALT LAKE CITY — With Week 9 of the NFL season coming to an end, we are officially past the halfway mark through the regular season. Lets take a look at who stood out this week.

Bobby Wagner (Utah State)

Wagner had his best game of the year for the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon. He was dominant in a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers as he provided finished with 13 total tackles. He was also good in coverage, swatting away three different passes.

Alex Smith (Utah)

Smith had his best statistical game of the year despite the Washington Redskins getting demolished by the Atlanta Falcons. Smith completed 30-of-46 passes for 65.2 percent. He threw for 306 yards, a touchdown and one interception. He also had one rush in which he scampered for in for 22 yards.

Ezekiel Ansah (BYU)

Ansah played for the Detroit Lions in his first game since an injury in Week 1 that has kept him out essentially the entire season. The Lions lost, but Ansah still made his presence known and finished the game with one tackle — a sack.

BYU

Michael Davis (Los Angeles Chargers) - Davis had eight total tackles in the Chargers' win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Kyle Van Noy (New England Patriots) - Van Noy had a big game in the Patriots' win over the Green Bay Packers. He ended up having nine total tackles in the win, one of which was for a loss of yards.

Fred Warner (San Francisco 49ers) - Warner had seven total tackles and a pass breakup in the 49ers' blowout win over the hapless Oakland Raiders.

Jamaal Williams (Green Bay Packers) - Williams carried the ball seven times for a total of 34 yards. He also caught two passes out of the backfield for 20 yards in the Packers' loss to the New England Patriots.

Taysom Hill (New Orleans Saints) - Hill had two runs for 10 yards in a crazy win over the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Rams.

Utah

Devontae Booker (Denver Broncos) - Booker rushed three times for 15 yards and was able to punch it into the end zone for a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 9 yards. But, unfortunately for Booker, he had a fumble in a game where the Broncos only lost by two points to the Houston Texans.

Eric Weddle (Baltimore Ravens) - Weddle ended up having seven total tackles in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Marcus Williams (New Orleans Saints) - Williams had three total tackles in the Saints' win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Tim Patrick (Denver Broncos) - Patrick caught one pass for 17 yards in a narrow loss to the Houston Texans.

Derrick Shelby (Atlanta Falcons) - Shelby had one tackle for a loss in the Falcons' blowout win over the Washington Redskins.

Eric Rowe (New England Patriots) - Rowe was placed on injured reserve by the Patriots this past week and will miss the remainder of the season.

Utah State

Nevin Lawson (Detroit Lions) - Lawson had two total tackles whilst his team was dominated by the Minnesota Vikings.

Kyler Fackrell (Green Bay Packers) - Fackrell had one tackle in Sunday night's loss to the New England Patriots.

Southern Utah

Miles Killebrew (Detroit Lions) - Killebrew had one tackle in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings

Weber State

Taron Johnson (Buffalo Bills) - Johnson swatted away one pass during the Chicago Bears' rout over the Bills. He also had two tackles.
