Markham, Ontario, Canada - After a long break, the Multimatic Motorsports/Miller Racing team, based in Markham, Ontario, Canada, will be back in action this weekend for Round 3 of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) at California's iconic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Laguna Seca has long been a favorite venue for most drivers. The picturesque and challenging 2.23-mile circuit, situated in the coastal hills just north of Monterey, has hosted the best in American road racing since 1957 and is renowned for its famous Corkscrew corner.

Following Round 2 of the championship at Florida's Sebring International Raceway on March 14, Scott Maxwell and Jade Buford are tied for seventh in the driver championship standings in the No. 15 Ford Mustang Boss 302R, while teammates Ian James and Billy Johnson are tied for ninth place. In the teams championship, the No. 15 is ranked seventh and the No. 158 ninth.

After a long break, the Multimatic Motorsports/Miller Racing team, based in Markham, Ontario, Canada, will be back in action this weekend for Round 3 of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) at California's iconic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

During the six weeks between races, the team received some good news from IMSA's competition department. The Balance of Performance (BOP) among the different cars in the Grand Sports class has been adjusted and the Ford Mustang Boss 302Rs will now be allowed to carry 50 lb less weight, which should make the cars more competitive.

This weekend's schedule includes two 45-minute practice sessions and a 15-minute qualifying session on Friday, May 2, with the 2.5-hour race taking the green flag at 3:45 pm ET on Saturday.

After the long layoff, the Multimatic Motorsports/Miller Racing drivers are anxious to get back behind the wheel.

"It's been a long six weeks since Sebring," said Maxwell, "and I'm looking forward to seeing how well Jade and I can do at Laguna Seca this weekend with 50 pounds less weight on the car. It's a fun track to race on, and the No. 15 Multimatic/Miller Racing Ford Boss 302R is always fun to drive, so I'm hopeful we can get a good result."

"I'm greatly looking forward to getting back to Laguna Seca," said Buford. "It is, by far, one of my favorite tracks to drive. I have had past success there with Multimatic, and I'm optimistic that we will have a successful weekend with our No. 15 Multimatic/Miller Racing Ford Boss 302R."

"I'm excited to get back to racing after the long break since Sebring," said James. "The Boss 302R Mustangs have been allowed to take 50 pounds of weight off to help the Balance of Performance between the cars, so that will help quite a bit. Laguna Seca is one of my favorite tracks, Billy is on form and Multimatic/Miller turn out a great car, so it should be a good weekend to get a positive result for the No. 158 Prestige Financial/Total Care Auto Mustang!"

"I will be heading to Laguna Seca after spending a couple of fun days running around Miller Motorsports Park working with Ford Racing's NASCAR drivers," said Johnson. "I'm looking forward to hopping back into the No. 158 Prestige Financial/Total Care Auto Boss 302R with Ian and, with the recent BOP adjustments, I think we are in a better position to contend for a podium."

The race from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on Fox Sports 1 at 10:00 a.m. ET on Sunday, May 11. Live streaming of the event, as well as timing and scoring, will be available at www.IMSA.com. IMSA offers mobile apps for both iPhone and Android platforms, available at Google Play and the App Store, respectively, which also provide live timing and scoring among other features.
