Outlook
It'll be a half and half weekend with seasonable temperatures Saturday, then a big drop to nearly 20 degrees below normal. A weak cold front will move through the state Saturday and will drop temperatures a few degrees into the low 70s. We'll also have mostly cloudy skies with mountain showers in the afternoon and early evening across central and eastern Utah. A storm system will drop into Utah Sunday afternoon, sparking scattered valley rain and mountain snow showers. This storm doesn't look to bring a lot of precipitation and majority of it will fall overnight into Monday morning. Valley precipitation across the Wasatch Front will end Monday morning, so the rest of the day looks dry but cool. Rain totals look to range from a tenth to .30" from the UT/ID border south to Cedar City - with the higher end in central/southern Utah. Mountain snow could range from 2-6" from the Cottonwoods south, and the Uintas could see up to 8-10"! Unfortunately, freezing conditions will be possible Monday and Tuesday night across northern Utah valleys (outside of the Wasatch Front), so product your crops! Looking ahead, temperatures look to gradually rise through the rest of next week! - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 5.15.26
