Outlook
Storm #2 is exiting out of northern Utah this late afternoon, and boy did it deliver! Resorts in the Cottonwood Canyons are reporting storm snow totals from 15" to 22", and still a couple more inches are possible! Mountain snow will taper off through the evening, but if lake effect snow bands can develop overnight, then additional light snow will be possible for anyone around the Great Salt Lake. We've had wind, rain, snow, thunder, lightning, and now we'll get the freeze! Overnight lows tonight and Friday night will dip down to near or below freezing across much of the state, except for lower WA county, Zion, and Lake Powell. Protect your crops and plants from the frost and freeze! Highs on Friday will remain cooler than normal near 50 degrees. As we head into the weekend, high pressure will build in over the Great Basin, leading to sunny and quiet weather with gradually warming temperatures! Highs on Saturday will be near normal around 60 degrees, then Easter Sunday will warm into the mid to upper 60s. Warmer, quiet weather will continue into the first half of next week with highs in the low 70s and mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Unsettled, cooler weather looks like it could return late next week or even as early as Wednesday night! - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 4.1.26
