Outlook
A band of valley rain and mountain snow will move through the Wasatch Front this evening, then will stall early Saturday morning somewhere between Salt Lake County and Utah County. Wherever it stalls will see more precipitation through the morning. Accumulations will range from a couple of hundredths to a quarter of an inch across the Wasatch Front. Another band of valley rain and mountain snow is expected to move through northern Utah on Sunday, and the best chances for steadier rain looks north of SLC. Mountain snow by the end of the weekend will be minimal because it's heavy, wet snow. We're thinking 4-8" for the Cottonwoods above 8000ft (higher if the front stalls tomorrow), up to a foot for the Bear River Range and Western Uintas, and less everywhere else. Mild temperatures will continue with highs in the low 50s Saturday, then back to the mid 50s Sunday. Record warmth will be possible Monday through Wednesday next week with highs near 60! As we head into the middle of next week, our next storm is slated to move in and this time from the west and south. This will bring valley rain and mountain snow statewide through the holiday and potentially the holiday weekend. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 12.19.25
