SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard says it has seized $33 million worth of cocaine in international waters south of the Dominican Republic.
The agency said Friday that it arrested three Venezuelan men and one Colombian man in the case. Authorities said they detected a boat carrying more than 2,447 pounds (1,110 kilograms) of cocaine during a routine patrol last week. The boat was located more than 150 miles (241 kilometers) south of the Dominican Republic.
The announcement comes just days after Puerto Rico police seized $13 million worth of cocaine off the U.S. territory's southeast coast.
